Glendale Park is the newest park to the Elkins area. In 1999, the EPRC received a Division of Tourism grant to assist in the aquisition of the land. It is the EPRC's goal to preserve the area as an open space for the citizens of Elkins. The serenity of the park makes it a unique area for people to come and enjoy open space in the middle of town. It is not uncommon to see a variety of wildlife. Glendale Park consists of 36 acres of river bottom land, with a walking trail around the perimeter of the park. Area youth associations take advantage of the flat, open space for practices. In addition, the park has a skateboard area, pop warner football practice field, soccer fields, and four picnic sites. There is a small pavilion located at the entrance to the park that has been dedicated to Kevin Nestor. Click here for directions to Glendale Park.
